R001: 5-day stay and clay deposit (Thursday afternoon through Monday afternoon)

Register for a 5-day ceramics stay at Little Falls Pottery Retreat.

Arrive Thursday and depart Monday afternoon.

Welcome and introductory class Thursday afternoon (on the wheels) with wet clay work.

Friday's focus on wet clay work to reinforce approaching the wheel with consistency and expand your wheel skills.  Discussion of glazing, wild clay and other special topics students are interested to explore.

Includes private climate-controlled cabin (Queen bed, full electric).  Retreat has a modern bathhouse (two bathrooms with hot showers), a community kitchen and many common areas for you to enjoy.

Onsite woodfired sauna, soak tubs, decks, walking, fire and learn about the honeybees onsite!

Clay, equipment, tools and instruction provided onsite, with clay being free if you fire/glaze the pieces in our studio (or $1.50/pound if you take the greenware home at the end of the retreat). 

We use a high quality house clay with smooth grog that is easy to throw and advance your skill- Laguna No. 65 currently. 

Kiln pricing- bisque pricing is $0.06 per cubic inch and glaze pricing (house dipped glazes) is $0.08 per cubic inch. 

Instruction is typically 9am-12noon, with a comfortable midday siesta break, and again 2-5pm, with evenings reserved for reinforcement of skills (practice) and/or rejuvenation or local exploring.

Sundays will include a glazing lesson and firing of the gas raku kiln- you'll keep pieces you make.  We have pieces pre-bisqued onsite for raku firings.  Each retreat attendee gets two pre-bisqued raku pieces included!
